Body Roll

intermediate

also known as: Bodywave

A wave passed through the body — chest to center to hips (or the reverse) — used by both roles as musical styling, most commonly during anchors, wraps, and hip catches on slow or contemporary music.

Pure styling vocabulary rather than a led pattern, though it can be matched between partners when the connection invites it. Usually practiced solo against a wall or mirror first; the classic cue is to move through the spine sequentially rather than bowing at the waist.
