
A whip with the redirection on the reverse side: the leader steps into the slot mirrored from a standard whip and the follower is turned counter-clockwise at the post. The timing is standard 8-count whip timing. Brian B has also heard it called the cutoff whip.1
The leader keeps basic whip footwork. The follower's footwork changes, turning away from the partner over the left shoulder.2 Filipe de Barros preps the turn by letting the follower's right shoulder stay back on count 2, and catches the follower's back early, around "3-and".3 A reverse whip also works when a follower breaks frame and walks in.4
