Slingshot

A left side pass cut off early into a shared stretch. The leader catches the follower's second hand and both partners settle with their hips stretching away from each other before releasing into an exit.¹

Brian B builds it on a slightly outward, rotational connection: flare the elbows without pushing the hands out, open on count 2, roll together on 3, and set on 4 by taking the rotation back out of the arms.² Filipe de Barros cues it from the follower's side: forward on 1 and 2, land on 3, stretching away while the leader stretches the other way.³

Hip bumps led from the centers are the usual filler during the stretch, and grooving in place also works.⁴ Standard exits are a tuck or an inside turn. The entry can be accelerated ("one, two-and-three") to land the stretch on a hit in the music.⁵
